Baton Twirlers

Baton Twirlers

Kirkland High School Community Use based Caleven Baton Twirlers have returned ecstatic from the European Cup of Clubs Championships held in Russelsheim, Germany with an amazing 5th place from a total of nineteen junior teams from all over Europe.

The club team coached by Kelly Adair of Leven Baton Twirlers and Emma Smith of Calsay Baton Twirlers, performed their hearts out to reach the final six on day one and eventually finish 5th on Finals day.  Caleven had to participate in Scottish Selections in order to compete in Europe as did every other member nation so the girls were competing against the crème de la crème of European talent.

"All of the girls had an amazing time as it was the 1st time they had competed at European level in team, they really exceeded all of their and our expectations and we are so proud of them", said a very happy Kelly Adair.

"Many thanks to all who supported the girls in our fundraising efforts, it is especially tough as not a lot of people appreciate the skill and determination our athletes have. Hopefully with this recent success and media attention our athletes will find it easier to realise their goals and funding will become more accessible."
