Fife News : Fife Police Seize Largest-ever Single Haul of Drugs
FIFE Police have seized their largest-ever single haul of drugs after more than a million pounds worth of heroin and amphetamine was discovered on Saturday (20th June.)
The seizure followed an operation by Fife Constabulary Drugs Squad where three houses in Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Alloa were searched. The drugs recovered included nine kg of heroin and 19 kg of amphetamine. A 37 year old man was due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today (Monday 22nd June.)
The huge haul follows record seizures of more than £3million of drugs in 2008/9.
Det. Insp. Graham Seath said that this operation had been a great success and had removed a large quantity of drugs that were destined for the streets of Fife.
"Fife Constabulary is totally committed to tackling drug dealing at all levels. I urge people to continue to contact the Police on 0845 6005702 or Crime stoppers on 0800 555111 with information about drugs in their communities. No information will be ignored."
