Police appeal after three burglaries occur in one night
Police are appealing for information after three burglaries took place between 11pm on Wednesday, February 3, and 6.30am on Thursday, February 4.
All three incidents took place within a short distance of one another in Oxford Road and Chelsea Road in Southsea.
Entry was forced to all three properties and small, valuable items stolen, including: a 32" Hitachi TV, an iPod Touch, a Sony MP3 player, a Nintendo Wii and games, a Fujitsu digital camera, black leather jacket with a blue hood, three laptops, two gold wedding rings, two wallets and a purse.
PC Allison Fraser said: "This is a busy area of Southsea, close to Albert Road. Did you see anyone acting strangely in this area that night? Did you see anyone carrying these things or anybody with a large bag? If so, please tell the police as soon as possible. This volume of burglaries in one night is very unusual. All were committed in the same way, entering through the front door, possibly by forcing the locks.
"I would take this opportunity to remind people not to purchase goods that you know or suspect to be stolen. If you are aware of stolen items being offered for sale in Portsmouth please contact the police."
