Police appeal after burglar takes European electrical goods
Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary took place at a flat in Portsmouth.
Between the hours of 8.30am and 9.45am on Thursday, January 28, offender(s) broke into a top floor flat at a building in Helena Road, Southsea, by forcing the front door to gain entry.
Numerous valuables have been stolen including a black Samsung NC10 Netbook, one silver Sharppixel camera and one Canon digital camera, a silver Siemens Notebook (laptop) and a MacBook Pro, and 200 Euros in cash. All of the laptops stolen have European plug sockets, not UK ones, therefore they are quite distinctive.
PC Allison Fraser said: "This is an unusual burglary where the top floor flat in a large building has been targeted. The door to the flat was damaged during the incident, and the laptops stolen are for European plug sockets - if you are offered items like these for sale please check the sockets, and if you are suspicious of where they came from at all report it to the police.
"I would like to remind people to check the security of their homes; ensure you leave all windows and doors closed and secure when you go out, invest in heavy duty locks for your doors and do not leave valuable items on display in your home. Remember, don't give thieves a chance"
