A fresh appeal for information is being made by detectives investigating an armed robbery at the Bowhouse Service Station in Maddiston.
The robbery took place on Thursday August 5 at 1:00pm when a five-figure sum was stolen from two security guards, who were assaulted during the incident, but have since recovered and returned to work.
Three weeks on from the incident, officers are re-appealing for witnesses and information, as Detective Inspector Ronnie Isles explains:
"We've had a good response in relation to this enquiry and we're now hoping to gather further information relating to the plastic cash cassette and security case, which were stolen during the robbery.
"The case cassette fits inside a larger security case measuring around 48cm by 30cm by 15cm. Both are grey in colour and the smaller cassette has yellow "Alliance and Leicester" and "£10" labels attached.
"It's likely that these items will have been discarded and if found, we are asking that you leave them in situ and contact your local police.
Police are keen to trace the men responsible for the robbery. They are described as around 5'5" to 5'7" in height, one having an English accent. Their faces were covered and it's believed they fled the scene in a silver Audi, driven by a third person.
