Training on offer for potential market traders

Potential market traders, or people wanting to set up a small business, are being offered free training, help and advice.

The help is being offered by Derbyshire County Council in partnership with district and borough councils across Derbyshire and Business Link.

Derbyshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Councillor Simon Spencer, said: "Market trading can offer a low cost, low risk way of starting up a business for many people.

"Our scheme is suitable for artists or crafts people who design or make their own products, or people who were just born to buy and sell."

The scheme offers workshops, access to a business advisor, business support and business planning.

After the training discounts will be offered on market stall fees for the first six months of trading.

Markets taking part in the scheme include Alfreton, Heanor, Ripley, Bolsover, Shirebrook, Chesterfield, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock, Wirksworth, Buxton, Chapel, Glossop, New Mills and Swadlincote.
