Operating in Cranleigh since 2008 Blossom is one of the more central nursery schools in the village, providing childcare and early years education for children between the ages of 2 and 5, living in Cranleigh and the surrounding area.

Nursery Schools Education:

We support your child’s early education in a caring and safe environment, where we promote learning and discovery through play activities, both structured and free.

Early Years Care:

Following the Early Years Foundation Stage, developed by the Dept. for Children, Schools and Families, your child’s development at Blossom will help prepare them for the transition to primary school.

Variety:

It is important for nursery schools to have varied environments. Our three indoor rooms lead to two outdoor areas in which the children can play and explore. We structure the day so that lots of different activities are available to encourage your child’s creativity, including sessions of drama, Physical Education and music. We frequently have visitors, such as musicians, dancers, performers and even the Police, who demonstrate their cars and equipment to the children, all of whom love activating the lights and sirens!

Key Person:

Nursery schools can be very busy places! Your child will be assigned a key person whilst at Blossom, allowing for continuity in their childcare and nurturing a sense of security and reassurance.

Record of Development:

The children are encouraged to learn independently, both through play and through more structured development. Nursery schools are where your children develop socially as well as intellectually and full records are kept of your child’s individual development whilst they are with us, including scrapbooks full of lovely artwork and photos.

Healthy Eating:

The children are encouraged to eat healthily, with access to a self-service snack table packed with nutritious foods and drinks that the children enjoy selecting and preparing independently. This area also acts as a hub where the children get together with their friends, encouraging their social development.

Nursery Schools Bursary:

We run a nursery schools bursary scheme at Blossom for the benefit of those families who struggle with the costs of childcare, especially for those with children who are too young to be awarded the Government’s Nursery Education Grant. Please ring Bev or Gemma for more information.

OFSTED:
