Alba has quickly established itself as the place to eat in St Ives thanks to the restaurants focus on the use of locally line-caught fish, seafood and the finest in local produce.

This smartly decorated restaurant is housed in a re-furbished lifeboat station with the upstairs of the restaurant affording spectacular views across the harbour.

Offering informal and relaxed dining for all the family, the menu caters for lovers of fish and provides an extensive menu for the children and tasty vegetarian dishes that will definitely want you coming back for more.

Dining here is informal but attentive and the menu has a great range of dishes that can be accompanied by a fine selection of wines from the extensive wine list that has been carefully chosen to complement the food.

Some examples of the line-caught fish dishes include Mackerel, plaice and tuna and there are a variety of other dishes, including Cornish fillet of beef, steamed Fowey mussels and Cornish chicken breast to tempt the pallet. As we focus on local seasonal produce, the menu will vary.

The extensive wine list has a wonderful selection of wines by the glass and a selection of half-bottles.

There is also a set-menu available at lunchtimes and before 7pm.

The upstairs section has 40 covers and this room is available for functions whilst the downstairs section has 20 covers where guests can watch the chefs at work through a large window between the dining area and kitchen. The décor is clean and crisp featuring suede covered chairs and banquette seating on some tables.

Alba Restaurant is open seven days per week and has awards from Michelin, the Good Food Guide and two awards from the AA, including AA Two Rosettes and AA Seafood Restaurant of the Year.
