Cornwall Museums - The Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro houses the Courtney Library and is a wonderful place to discover interesting information facts and figures about Cornwall as well as the culture and heritage of Cornwall.

There are collections of art that range from old master drawings to works by artists who are still working in Conrwall today.

The museum also contains a world famous collection of minerals, social history, Cornish archaeology - with a particularly strong bronze age collection.

There are also collections of world cultures including the "unwrapped mummy" - Priest Ast Tayef Nakht.

The museum is owned by the Royal Institution of Cornwall, a registered charity, established in 1818 for "the promotion of knowledge in natural history, ethnology and the fine and industrial arts, especially in relation to Cornwall."  This ethos is still at the heart of everything the museum does today.

The museum is well resourced for families and has many family friendly events throughout the year and many of the permanent galleries have specific activities to help families and children explore the collections.

There are toilet and cafe facilities on site and the museum and library are accessible for pushchairs and wheelchair users.

Admission to the museum is free.
