Santa's coming to Hasland for a Community Christmas Fun Day

Santa's coming to Hasland for a Community Christmas Fun Day Santa Claus is coming to town for a Community Christmas Fun Day in Eastwood Park, Hasland, on Saturday, November 21st.

Hasland and St Leonard's Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team has joined forces with the Friends of Eastwood Park and Home Housing to arrange the day of festivities from noon to 4pm.

There will be local businesses selling craft items, a bouncy castle, a 'rodeo reindeer', performances by a local choir and refreshments including mulled wine and mince pies.

Police officers and PCSOs will also be on hand to offer crime prevention advice and most importantly Father Christmas will be there on his sleigh.

After the event children can visit Santa in his grotto at the local police office (on The Green) from 4pm to 6pm.

Pupils of Hady and Hasland junior schools who have taken part in a competition to design a poster themed around crime prevention will be asked to present them to Santa in his grotto.

There will be a winner from each school who will receive bowling tickets courtesy of Chesterfield Bowl. The winning designs will then be etched into the windows of the police office.

PCSO Claire Shepherd said: "The poster competition is aimed at encouraging children to think about safety and crime prevention but have fun at the same time.

"We have activities for everyone on the day and there will be plenty of stalls for people to buy unique Christmas presents.

"We know it's early but we want to encourage everyone to get in the Christmas spirit and join us for a fun day for all the family."

The fun day is free to enter and everyone is welcome.
