Advocate 4 Health is a project set up with funding from London Councils to work across 6 London boroughs to improve health for people with a learning disability. The project covers Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Sutton and Wandsworth. As part of the project we are mapping services across the six boroughs and we would be delighted to hear from service providers who are running interesting projects or events.
We have an easy read health website that acts as an information source and a signposting tool and is intended for individuals with a learning disability, service providers and individuals interested in simple health advice. You can reach the site at: www.advocate4health.org.uk
We also work directly with learning disability groups running peer led workshops. We run free workshops every year in each of the boroughs and offer organisations a consultancy service if they wish to set up their own health group.
