Woman killed in Boxing Day crash named
A 91-year-old woman from Bexhill who died on Boxing Day (December 26) when the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in a road traffic collision on the A21 at John's Cross, near Robertsbridge, has been named.
She was Rosalie Richard, of De La Warr Parade, Bexhill. She was a passenger in a red Citroen Saxo that was being driven southbound by a 60-year-old woman, also from Bexhill, when it was in collision with a black VW Golf shortly before 4.30pm. The Saxo driver and two passengers, a 23-year-old woman and a five-year-old boy from Surrey were seriously injured. They were all taken to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings.
The driver of the Golf, a 48-year-old man from London, and his 45-year-old woman passenger also from London both received minor injuries and were also treated at the Conquest.
Police closed the road for just over four hours to allow rescue, recovery and investigation work to take place. Any witnesses to the collision or events leading up to it are asked to call 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Haxted.
