Youth matters in the spotlight
Come and hear about plans to develop a new youth website at the next meeting of the young peoples' forum Brent Youth Matters 2 (BYM2) on 3 November.
Design ideas for the site will be presented at the meeting and young people will be asked for their views on a possible name.
The forum takes place from 6 to 8pm in the conference suite of the Bridge Park Leisure Complex in Harrow Road, NW10.
There will be an update on another major project - the £5 million refurbishment of Roundwood Youth Club in Harlesden - and a talk from the charity Outside Chance, which works to prevent young men from reoffending.
Members of Brent Youth Parliament will also give their regular update about recent issues they have been debating with the council on your behalf.
BYM2 forums are regular, monthly meetings that are open to all 13 to 19 year-olds in the borough. Supported by Brent Youth Service, they are held on the first Tuesday of every month and usually have a theme or agenda that is relevant to young people, along with guest speakers from various organisations.
Members of the group take part in a variety of activities, including public speaking, team-working, decision making and an annual residential.
