Money, money, money for Belfast sports clubs
Belfast sports clubs are being offered a £5,000 grant by the City Council towards development - but applications have to be completed by 10 July.
The aim of the Support for Sport Large Development Grants is to encourage clubs to try new initiatives to strengthen their particular sport.
Belfast City Council Sports Development Officer, Claire Moraghan, said: "These grants are for clubs which wants to raise the bar - perhaps bring in sports science support, set up satellite clubs or set up new sections such as disability or women's sections.
"Projects can begin by October 2009, we can't offer retrospective funding. Interested clubs complete a pre-application form on the web and once it's clear that they meet the criteria they receive a full application form to submit by Friday, 10 July."

Claire added: "£5,000 is a substantial grant, especially for smaller clubs. We are happy to provide further advice for those who might feel hesitant about applying.
"Clubs must have the support of their governing body as well as a club development plan in place."
Successful clubs will be notified of their funding at the start of September.
