ST LUKE’S HOSPICE Bring a £1 to Work Day

Start date: 6th March 2010 until 5th March 2011

“With a little help from everyone we can achieve a lot” ……. That’s the message Heather Penny Corporate fundraiser at St. Luke’s Hospice is communicating to businesses as the Hospices launches it’s annual Bring £1 to work day which is on 5th March:
Heather explained
‘’With the current economic climate having a significant impact on St Luke’s Hospice; our fundraising income has decreased considerably since last year. As the Hospice enters its 20th anniversary year we are asking all businesses to help us get us back on track’’.
Our aim is that on Friday 5th March companies ask their staff to ‘’Bring a £1 to Work” for St Luke’s. All money collected is then passed onto the Hospice to enable us to continue caring for our patients and those who need our services.

The ‘Bring a £1 to Work Day’ initiative is an easy way for companies to help us continue the vital care the Hospice provides and we hope that as many firms as possible will take part and support us. Maybe they could create a bit of fun with it themselves and use the date as a dress-down or dress-up day: Special 20th Anniversary Bring £1 to work stickers are available from Heather at the Hospice which can be placed on buckets, envelopes etc to support the collection and remind people about the day. We have had tremendous support in the past from the business community and I only hope that despite the current economic climate their support will continue.
During the past 20 years St Luke’s has provided care and support to thousands of people through various services 24 hours a day, 52 weeks of the year. These services are given completely free of charge at our main Hospice in Nethermayne, Basildon and also from our satellite centre, St Luke’s House, Corringham.

Further details can be obtained from Heather Penny, Corporate Fundraiser at St Luke’s Hospice by phoning 01268 240146.
