Companies can now directly contact us and expect a prompt reply. We can offer general help and guidance, help starting a business, expanding your business, or relocating to or within the Basildon district. If business are unsure about something, then email business assist and we will be able to provide help quickly."
This new service is one of a number of measures that Basildon Renaissance and its partners have been working on over the last 6 months to build better relationships with local business, to help them through the recession, and to help them thrive and succeed. Other actions include:
· Four business clinics are being run for companies in the Basildon district, offering free confidential advice on coping with the recession. They include
· free financial health checks by high street banks and free employee relations advice from ACAS
· More than 550 businesses have been contacted by the council to see if they are eligible for small business rate relief. Reminders have also been sent out on bills
· The council is encouraging local businesses to bid for council contracts by offering them advice and guidance. This will support companies and ensure taxpayers' money is retained in the district
· Meetings have been held with the 15 largest employers in the district, including Case New Holland, SELEX Galileo, and SELEX Communications, to see how Basildon Renaissance, the council, and the companies can work together for mutual benefit and to benefit the local economy
· Business-to-business events are being held in May to introduce local suppliers to one another in order to stimulate the local economy
· The BRP is assisting companies at risk of redundancy by bringing in support agencies and arranging company visits to offer business advice and support for employees
